Instructions
For this assignment, I'll ask you to submit an essay that would be appropriate to use for a scholarship application. I know the idea of writing an essay or a paper can be pretty overwhelming so we're going to break it down into 2 parts.
- Part 1 (this assignment)- you'll do some exploration of how much your program of choice will cost and some exploration of what types of scholarships are available at OTC to help you with that cost. You are also encouraged to do some research on scholarships available outside of OTC (The Spring OTC scholarship application is open now until Nov. 1 if you want to use this assignment to complete an actual application. I am happy to look over any essays).
- Part 2 (week 7)- you'll write an essay that you could submit as a part of the application for the OTC scholarships you identified (and/or that will have parts you can copy and paste for a program application essay if needed)

Although it's not an official part of the assignment, I would suggest that you save this assignment and use it to apply for scholarships here at OTC when the next registration period, listed below, opens. We have over 100 different types of scholarships available to our students and every year some of the money goes unclaimed because we don't get enough applicants....let's do our best to get you in a position to receive some of these funds!
