Do you know how to write a professional email?

Writing a professional email is an art form that has gone out of style with the advent of instant messaging, but it's an important skill for the job force and for academics. So let's practice! Some of you learn best through reading and others through listening, so I've included articles and videos demonstrating proper email etiquette. You only need to watch/read some of them, but please select at least two to learn from.

After watching the videos/reading the articles, you'll be shown an example of an excellent professional email and an example of a poor, inappropriate email. Please know these are real emails I've received from students over the years, so learn from their examples!

Once you've viewed the examples, you will see an email that I've crafted for you. Your assignment is to respond to this email using the appropriate language, formatting, and style you've learned in steps one and two. The email should have a subject line, a salutation, at least two paragraphs, a closing, and a signature. Sentences should be complete and grammar should be accurate. This assignment is worth 10 points.
