The first primary document quiz of the semester is worth 10 points.  Primary sources are critical to historians' understanding of the past, as these documents come from the people who lived during the time of these events.  The first primary source is Columbus' first impression of the native peoples of the Americas.  Your second primary source is from the opposite perspective:  an Aztec account of how they perceived the invading Spaniards.  The third document is from a Spanish priest named Bartolome de Las Casas, who wrote to the Spanish king to argue for better treatment of the natives.  These documents are all posted on Canvas.
