Instructions

The Final Exam consists of three sections.  All sections will be completed on Canvas in the answer text fields provided, not as file uploads.  Students will have 110 minutes to complete the test, except for those who have provided disability accommodation documentation prior to the test date.  Exams must be submitted by 8:00 PM on Monday, December 11.

Section 1 is Identifications (IDs).  Students will be given a list of nine IDs, from which they will choose six IDs to answer.  For each ID, the answer will consist of a heading listing which ID the student chose, followed by one short paragraph answering the following questions:  Who or what is this?  What is its/their significance in United States history?

Section 2 is Short Answers.  Students will be given two prompts.  The answer for each prompt will consist of one to two paragraphs, which should include a topic sentence stating the main point, followed by supporting sentences which include specific examples to back up the primary argument.

Section 3 is an Essay.  Students will be given a prompt.  The answer will consist of several paragraphs (approximately five paragraphs is the suggested length), which should include an introductory paragraph containing a thesis statement, followed by supporting paragraphs which include specific examples to back up the primary argument, and ending with a conclusion paragraph that restates the main point.
